🧨 Why Violet Evergarden Is Bad

By referring to Episode 1 16:56, Hodgins told Violet that the Evergarden family still accepts Violet as their adopted family member So that why Violet still calls herself Evergarden. Note: I watch Japanese VO with Chinese sub so I might get the meaning wrong but you can refer back :p, hope that answer your question
Yes, Violet Evergarden easily belongs among the bigger names in terms of quality (although I haven't seen that much anime myself yet, but I did see the most prominent "big names"). All three examples, Violet Evergarden, Your Name, and Ufotables Fate are extremely detailed and gorgeous so it is impossible to rank them.

In fact, I am someone who really only likes to watch original sub, but I will only ever watch Violet Evergarden dubbed. The original cast did a great job, but I personally feel like the English cast did just a little bit of a better job. Jotunheim99 • 8 hr. ago. I exclusively watch dub.

Violet's face is obscured in this scene, but you can easily imagine how well she understands the significance of this tragedy compared to Ann. At the same time, Violet's military mannerisms were
I just found out that people still think that the relationship between Violet and the Major is romantic. In the show the major is in his late 20s/early 30s, while Violet is clearly (or at least to what I remember) stated to be 14. That’s at least a 15 year difference between the two. Violet never stated to be in love with Gilbert and the same

Here in the movie, we see that there is, indeed, a heart that still beats under that hardened exterior. He tries his hardest to change, and while it is a bit of a slow process, he does come around eventually. It doesn’t mean that he becomes a truly likable character, but you could say that he’s more tolerable now.
Redline is the correct answer. Redline is unquestionably the best animation I've ever seen, and if you disagree it's almost certainly because you haven't seen it. As far as TV shows go, I'd say violet evergarden for best traditional, demon slayer for best mixed, and houseki no kuni for best cgi. Vivy and AoT are nuts.
Everything after Violet met the Evergarden family is anime original. Violet's first day at the post office is completely anime original. The only thing that was 100% the same as the light novels were the flashbacks that Violet had in regards to the war and Gilbert. Everything else were edited or weren't in the original novels at all.

Little by little. But sadly during a battle with a rival country, Violet lost both of her arms and Gilbert lost his life. But before he died, he told her that he loved her and that she must live a free life. Without the need to fight in the war and for her to actually become her own person.

The clearest theme of Violet Evergarden is the awakening of feelings. It is the job of Auto Memory Dolls to help people express their feeling. It is the quest of our main character to understand feelings, the ones of the Major of course, but also of her own and the people around her. This happens in a very specific context.

Well, Your Lie in April is probably more emotional on the whole, with the most build-up towards particular tragedy and which generally had me more emotional. But Violet Evergarden had higher high points, with episode 10 in particular being the cream of the crop when it comes to great, emotionally affecting melodrama episodes. In the side story movie they say that it has been 4 years since Violet joined them. So we don't know her exact age but she is atleast 18 and maybe even 19-20. Gilbert was 29 at the end of the war so he is probably 33 right now. There is a 13-15 age difference which is big but both of them are adults.

I will forever maintain that bringing Gilbert back is the single largest flaw in the Violet Evergarden story. The series was absolutely perfect and the movie damaged or at least tarnished the concluding act of the series. Violet getting to meet Gilbert is the equivalent of Ann's mother receiving a miracle treatment at the last minute. .
